The Exhibition "SENSATION " (1997) which artists represented metaphors of sensations; taboo, sexuality, violence, abnormality, mystery, etc. of contemporary problems and obsessions, caused controversy all over the world and it left an huge impact on people.

"What was the " SENSATION" that Young British Artists (YBAs) boldly challenged?"

Is it not the role of art to make the viewer to think through the artwork regardless of whether they want it or not?
In this era of our time when various expressions exist, the exhibition “SENSATION” 2018 creates an opportunity for the viewer again to question and think their own perspective.

Emi ARAI
Born in Nagano Prefecture in 1980. Graduated from Goldsmiths College. Developing from themes of duality, creating installations expressing the imaginary and reality world with textiles and conceptual works with a theme of nature and culture.
Honami KAWAI
Born in Aichi prefecture in 1987. Graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts. Photographs and paintings are used in combination to interact one another to embellish the beauty. The consistent theme of the work is “symbol” and “faith”.

Born in Tokyo in 1975. Graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts. As a daily basis production, continuing a project to archive video works created every weekend. Interested in a process of production going back and forth between acts and random.
